Product for the largest power plant in Dubai

One more success of the global scale project

Croatia is the largest per capita producer of energy transformers in the world. HELB has been a long-standing participant in accomplishing this enviable statistic by making control cabinets for the KPT factory, which is majority owned by Siemens. It’s about another record result, which is the largest cabinet HELB has so far produced within the KPT, of 388 MVA capacity, for control and cooling of energy transformers.

The mentioned product is built within the Jebel Ali M Station, UAE’s biggest power production and desalination plant. The plant is the latest addition to the Jebel Ali Power Plant and Desalinization Complex which includes another six stations with 7,800 MW total energy production capacity. The Jebel Ali M Station has impressive installed power of 2,060 MW and water production capacity of 140 million imperial gallons per day (MIGD).

The investor for this project is the Government of Dubai, which operates through Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA). The total investment value is $2.7 billion U$ and it is located along the shore of the Arabian Gulf, adjacent to the Jebel Ali Free Zone. Its installed capacity is sufficient to fulfill the electricity needs of approximately one million households in Dubai.

The plant expansion contract was awarded to Siemens and many international companies are also involved as contractors and consultants. HELB thus continues its path of partnership with global corporations on world scale projects.
