HELB in new manufacturing and office building
Energy efficiency and renewable resources in HELB
The construction of new commercial and production facilities in the Business Zone Božjakovina has been completed and HELB now operates from new premises and has new address. The project “Construction of the production hall for the production of electric power equipment,” was co-financed by Croatian and the European Union’s capital from the European Regional Development Fund, Operational Programme for Regional Competitiveness 2007-2013, “The increase in economic activity and the competitiveness of SMEs”.
The project, which lasted for nearly two years, also included education and certification of engineers by proven manufacturers of electric power equipment, exhibiting for the first time at international fairs and employing new staff. In any case, the prerequisites for more competitive manufacturing of electric power equipment have been established and foundations of the new product development cycle have been set.
The new business and production facility is several times larger than the existing space, with total area of 2,430 m² for commercial production and 3,230 m² for vehicle access and parking lots. That significantly increased production capacity of HELB. For the construction of the building energy-efficient materials were used. Optimal technical solutions for heating, cooling, lighting and electricity production from RES significantly reduce energy consumption. Therefore, more than 50% of the energy demand is supplied from its own production, and it is possible to achieve independence from single energy source and single supplier.
