Completed installation of second step-up transformer
In cooperation with the company KONČAR – Power Transformers Ltd., HELB has performed electrical installation works of swapping two step-up transformers of 90 MVA and associated equipment in the hydro power plant (HPP) Senj 216 MW. Replacement of the third and also the greatest generator step-up transformer of 150 MVA is planned in September.
This is the part of extensive project of hydro power plant modernization and its electricity generation increase, which “HEP Production” the owner of HPP, contracted with the company Končar.
The works included disassembling of the existing generator step-up transformers and installation of the new, installation of equipment for connecting power circuits, signalling and protection. Therewith, preconditions for the introduction of new management systems, signalling, protection, measurement and regulation (MSPMR) as well as process information system (PROCIS) generator transformers, have been met.
The works were carried out professionally and efficiently and the final test of transformer were successfully conducted at the power plant. Their completion represents an important new reference to HELB in the revitalization of hydroelectric power plants.
