EU certificate for the installation of PV systems

A training in installation of PV systems has been finished by Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar, REA Kvarner and Technical School for Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture Rijeka. The training was initiated by a need for the establishment and recognition of certification schemes for the installers of small renewable energy resources systems.

The training was mastered by experienced electrical fitters from HELB, who have improved their knowledge about the principles of work and the PV systems. They have also learned about practical examples, installation and maintenance of PV systems and establishing quality control and customer care systems.

This pilot training is part of the International PVTRIN (Training of Photovoltaic Installers) Project which addresses the needs of the market by developing training programs and certification schemes for those who are active in the installation and maintenance of small PV systems.

Since the project consortium consists of partners from a number of Member States, including Croatia, an additional objective of the project is to give guidelines for mutual recognition of certification schemes among the Member States.

PVTRIN project, which is initially implemented in six countries: Spain, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Cyprus and Croatia, was appeared from the needs of investors and equipment manufacturers to ensure quality at all stages of project development of photovoltaic systems (design, installation and maintenance). So far, the availability of skilled labour did not proper follow market growth, and the lack of professional installers can jeopardize the correct operation of photovoltaic systems. Therefore, going through the training program and certification of project PVTRIN, HELB has contributed to its mission of rigid respect for the profession and the continuous creation of a skilled workforce.
