134 companies in the fight for 5 thousand students

15th Job Fair at the new location

The 15th Job Fair was held for the first time in the Martinovka sports hall. The two-day event was attended by more than five thousand visitors, while 134 companies, including HELB, presented their businesses to students and future employees.

HELB hosted numerous students at its stand, mostly from the energy major, to whom it presented its company, references, job openings, and how to apply for summer internships. It also presented, in an interesting way with a help of a video game, its new project within IRI, DINGO – System for optimization of losses in advanced networks. HELB representatives are satisfied with the attendance and believe that they met their future colleagues there.

During the two days of the fair, students were able to listen to 24 conversations and participate in 16 workshops. The President of the Republic, Zoran Milanović, also took part in the opening. He told the gathered students that they are “the only careerists he likes. Without knowledge of this kind, Croatia does not have many trump cards with which it would be independent enough that we no longer need European funds and support, instead of us and you being able to give it to others,” said President Milanovic. In 2020, 19 percent of all companies in the European Union employed information and communication technology experts, according to Eurostat. Most ICT professionals are employed by companies based in Belgium and Ireland (30% each), and the least in Romania, Lithuania, and Bulgaria (16% each). Croatia is right in the middle with 19 percent of companies looking for and hiring ICT experts.
