Project name: Onshore/Offshore Plant 400,220,34 kV for the connection of the wind farm Project description:

Functional testing

HELB’s engineers have been testing transformer station of 660 MW Walney Extension wind farm, sufficient to supply more than 460,000 households annually. The end user is Dong Energy Corporation, the world leader in offshore wind farm development and building, with majority owned by the Danish government, while HELB performed the work in collaboration with partner Prointegris. A total of ninety 7 MW and 8 MW turbines were installed, with 7 MW Siemens turbines 190 meters high and 8 MW Vestas turbines as high as 222 m! On the offshore platform at the shipyard in Belgium, final tests were carried out before hauling the platforms to England. The project meets the most demanding environmental standards, and its implementation respects the highest standards of occupational health and safety on the principle of “The Safe Way or No Way”! By testing different parts of the plant, the integration of all systems into the functional unit was performed.
